The WSET level 2 is designed for those who have some experience but have never formally studied wine. The course offers a structured approach to learning about wine. You will increase your confidence in tasting and describing wine as well as your ability to know how to read labels and select wines. These skills are useful for business or pleasure as you quickly become the smartest wine person in your social circle. Wine tasting is part of every class.
Learn the Systematic Approach to Tasting and understand how to assess color, flavors, structural components, quality and more.
Understand Grape growing and winemaking and see how these dramatically impact how a wine tastes.
Gain a global palate as we discuss and taste wines from the main regions around the world.

This four-week course will take place at Frenchy’s Sip and Shop in South End Charlotte, with instruction occurring in the evenings once a week from 5:30-9:30pm.

Chris Sarette, the owner of Frenchy's, previously took the WSET Level 2 with Wine Smarties in San Diego. Since then, Chris and Lindsay have teamed up to make Frenchy's a WSET satellite school in North Carolina! Frenchy’s has also partnered with Wil Witters, the Midwest NC Wine Specialist for Tryon Distributing, to begin offering WSET courses in Charlotte. The courses will be taught by both Chris and Wil, who share a love for the classics and were each other's study partners recently for WSET Level 3.

There are no restrictions on entry to the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines.

TQT is an estimate of the total amount of time, measured in hours, that a learner would reasonably need to be able to show the level of achievement necessary for the award of a qualification. It is made up of GLH and private study time. GLH include all tutor-supervised learning and supervised assessments. The TQT for the Level 2 Award in Wines is 28 hours. This is made up of 17 GLH (of which 1 hour is for the examination) and 11 hours’ private study
