In this intermediate level course, we help you connect the dots and start to answer, so what!? So, you can describe a wine, what does it all mean? In this course we cover in detail the main grapes, styles, and regions while connecting the information to the glass as we taste.

The WSET level 2 is designed for those who have some experience but have never formally studied wine. The course offers a structured approach to learning about wine. You will increase your confidence in tasting and describing wine as well as your ability to know how to read labels and select wines. These skills are useful for business or pleasure as you quickly become the smartest wine person in your social circle. Wine tasting is part of every class.

  • Learn the Systematic Approach to Tasting and understand how to assess color, flavors, structural components, quality and more.

  • Understand Grape growing and winemaking and see how these dramatically impact how a wine tastes.

  • Gain a global palate as we discuss and taste wines from the main regions around the world.

  • Learn how to identify the main grapes, like Chardonnay, Grenache, Syrah, as well as local ones like Albarino or Nebbiolo - all part of the curriculum!

  • Sparkling, Sweet and Fortified wines are also explored in depth.

  • Service, Storage, and food and wine pairing  are also important parts of the course.
