wset level 1 - in person

In this foundation course, we explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings.

The Level 1 Award in Wines course includes 6 guided learning hours, of which 45 minutes is for the examination.

wset level 2 - in person

The WSET level 2 is designed for those who have some experience but have never formally studied wine. The course offers a structured approach to learning about wine. You will increase your confidence in tasting and describing wine as well as your ability to know how to read labels and select wines. These skills are useful for business or pleasure as you quickly become the smartest wine person in your social circle. Wine tasting is part of every class.

wset level 3 - hybrid

In this next-level course, your palate will dramatically transform (and you likely not even recognize it). Expect to become the smartest wine person in your social circle as many will seek your wine advice recognizing that you actually know what you're talking about.  As a result, you very likely could change your daily wine preferences completely as your palate expands.

why study with frenchy’s?

There’s nothing quite like learning wine in a wine shop. Not only do you have hundreds of bottles at your fingerprints, you also gain the practical knowledge of those dealing in wine day in and day out.

WSET at Frenchy’s is also sponsored by Lindsay Pomeroy, Master of Wine. Today, there are only 414 Masters of Wine spread out among 30 countries. Having Linsday’s backing and expertise for teaching here at Frenchy’s gives us even more confidence that your time spent with us will be of great value to you, both personally and potentially professionally.

  • All WSET Courses taught at Frenchy’s focus on in-person instruction. A great deal of the value gained by pursuing WSET is face time with your instructors as well as your fellow classmates.

  • Every level of WSET instruction includes substantial in-person tasting as well, both to study varietals as well as to reinforce the Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT).

  • Studying alongside others pursuing certifications for personal or professional goals is extremely rewarding as well. Chances are you will find your cohorts for pursuing advanced levels of certification in your classes.
