The East Wing is BACK at Frenchy’s, with Ryan Hughes [guitar, vocals], Alex Frazer [guitar, vocals] and Ben Neugebauer [cajon] playing an acoustic set of some of their favorite songs. It’s easily one of our favorite nights of the month every time these guys grace us with their music. Come for the drinks, the tunes, and the immaculate vibes. We hope to see you there!

GRAND TASTING
On Monday, May 5th, Frenchy’s will host its largest event ever. Ten German winemakers are coming to town to host a trade show in our shop, which will be followed up by a Grand Tasting that evening. An incredible sixty-eight wines will be poured at eleven different stations throughout the shop.
Some of the biggest names in winemaking today will be in attendance. Many of the wines being shown are not just new to North Carolina but to the entire US. Several have coveted GG status — aka the Grand Crus of Germany.
Tickets can be purchased here!
When/Where?
The Grand Tasting runs from 6pm-9pm on Monday, May 5th, 2025. We will start pre-emptively checking folks in at 5:45pm. Only valid ticket holders age 21+ will be allowed access. The Tasting will be held inside Frenchy's, which will be closed to the public for the day.
What's Included in My Ticket?
Your ticket provides you access to the Tasting from 6pm to 9pm. We will have glasses for everyone and spittoons placed throughout (remember, a Grand Tasting is a mararthon, not a sprint). Each producer will share tasting pours of their wines.
I Bought a Ticket, Now What?
Simply show up! All of our ticket holders will be on our guest list at the front door. If you purchased multiple tickets under your name, please arrive together. Please bring your ID for age and identity verification.
Is Food Available at the Fest?

Kenichiro Kojima Tasting
SAKE BREWERY LEGEND COMES TO CHARLOTTE. Honestly, it's a big deal, and we are beyond honored to host Kenichiro Kojima here at Frenchys. Although ultra premium sake is still relatively new in japan, the Kojima family has been satisfying the thirst of the samurai for hundreds of years and are the OG luxury sake makers. Kojima-san is an international force - it's beyond rare to have sake royalty anywhere outside Japan, but he chose Charlotte and has given us this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with a legend.

Limited tickets can be purchased here.

Stiegl Can Jam
Nothing says summer is imminent better than Stiegl’s lagers and radlers. Since 1492 Stiegl beer has been long-standing as Austria's most successful brewery. They are a family-owned business and pride themselves on their slow, methodical brewing processes. The outcome are easy, quaffable bevvies that are the ultimate pool or porch pounders.

Established in 1219, and currently led by Felix Prince zu Salm-Salm, (the 32nd generation), Weingut Prinz Salm justifiably has earned legendary status. Their wines provide us an amazing opportunity to taste through some of the Prädikatswein classification of wines - a uniquely German system that delivers some of the most delicious wines on earth. PET NAT PARTY
We started the work early to gather the finest pétillant naturel (Pet Nat) offerings we’ve ever assembled…and boy are we excited to share these with you. Trapped CO2 becomes the bubbles we know and love in our sparkling wines.
We’ll be pouring a special menu all day and night with Pet Nats from around the world!

Fonta Flora is known far and wide as one of the very best contributions North Carolina has made and continues to make to the craft beer movement. Their incredible and innovative bevvies aim to highlight the biodiversity and bounty of North Carolina agriculture. Nowhere else do you find the kind of thoughtful inclusion they prioritize of local malts, fruits, herbs, and everything else in between.
We’re so very lucky to have some amazing kegs on deck to be tapped, and beer legend Chris Leguizamon will be here pouring free samples of some of their core offerings as well. It’s our take on St. Paddy’s Day, and one we hope you’re as excited as we are to be a part of!

International Women's Day
This International Women’s Day, we’re recognizing some of our favorite women in wine. We’ll be pouring their wines all weekend long from a special menu. But Is It Worth It?
Have you ever wondered what makes one bottle worth $37 and another worth $207? Same grape, same winemaker even. So what’s the big deal? In this members only event, we’ll be talking and drinking through three different offerings from Guido Porro in Piemonte, Italy. All three are 100% Nebbiolo, all three come from the same region. But changes - big and small - in the terroir and specifically the winemaking of these three bottles make all the difference. By the end of this hour, you’ll be able to decide for yourself — Is is worth it?

A Night with Chimay
There are few beers we love here at Frenchy's more than Chimay. Brewed in a Trappist Monastery in Belgium since 1862, these beloved beers are a sip of history itself. We are thrilled to announce a Chimay event here at Frenchy's with Pierre Hensenne, ambassador for Chimay and an overall incredible fount of beer knowledge. Pierre will be pouring Chimay samples AND serving up some of the very cheese made on these same hallowed grounds. We'll also have some Chimay on draft. Please join us for some incredible beer and cheese and in celebrating the great Trappist tradition.

Last Bottle Sale!
The very nature of the small producers we work with means we’re constantly changing what we showcase here at the shop. Often times, we get a very limited allocation of three to twelve bottles of the fun stuff we carry. We have a few last bottles now hanging out that we’re marking down so we can make room for new arrivals coming in spring, when wineries often ship wines that were bottled last year. We’ll also be laying out a few beers in a similar spirit.
Wine Club members will be able to join us 30 minutes early (11:30a) for a first crack at some of these great bevvies!

Wine and Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! Pairing #6 is here, and this time around, we’re headed to a wine (and cheese) mecca — the Iberian Peninsula. We’re excited to show off some of our favorite bottles from the region, alongside some amazing cheeses as always from Orrman’s.

About the Wine:
Domaine des Baumard Clos du Papillon Savennieres is distinguished from other Savennières of the domaine by its character. Fresh and full of minerality while staying powerful, it exudes all the aromatic richness and elegance of Chenin Blanc grown on a great terroir. I’m not exaggerating when I say the 2006 is the best Chenin Blanc I’ve had in my life, and is my benchmark for the grape itself.

Wine and Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! Pairing #5 is here, with a seasonally-appropriate theme. This time around, we’re focusing on alpine cheeses - aka any cheese that is made using methods similar to those made in the Alps. Think of the "Swiss" cheeses: Gruyere, Emmenthaler, Comte, and such. Alpine cheeses are characterized by their firm yet elastic texture, and low salt content. We’re pairing these with another mountainous region beloved for their wines - Alsace. The wine region of Alsace is unique in France because of the combination of grapes grown there. From German grape varieties like Gewurztraminer and Riesling to sparkling cremants to French staples like Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, there are a lot of beautiful wines made in this border region with Germany.
Very limited tickets can be found here. These have sold out every time so far, so get your tickets early!

Pre-sale will cut off the Sunday before so we can bake, and buy, accordingly.
