Franc Fest
Ask a room of somms what their favorite red grape is, and Cab Franc is bound to come into the conversation. It’s a total chameleon of a grape, able to pull off cripsy bubbles and rosés while still delivering serious, food-worthy reds. We’ve continued to develop our obsession for it over the last year, to the point where we’re dedicating a day and a special menu around it on Sat, Sept 19. Come thirsty, leave happy. Better yet, bring in your own favorite foods from the area to see what a culinary treat this grape is.
OKTOBERFEST 2026!
Our THIRD Oktoberfest here at Frenchy’s, and we’re going all out, again! We’ll be showcasing incredible liquids from Central & Eastern Europe. From the classics actually poured at Oktoberfest in Munich to some of our very favorites from the region on the wine side, Oktoberfest is an absolute highlight for Frenchy’s.
PREW CREW PICKUP PARTY
Attention Wine Club members! Our pickup party is back, with an opportunity for you to try the month’s three wines in a guided tasting so you can figure out for yourself what you want to do with them — Open tonight? Save for the fam? Holiday juice? Etc.
Free tasting tix will be announced closer to the date via your club newsletter. As always, your membership gets you a plus one to these fun nights.
OMB Takeover!
Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is a Charlotte institution for good reason. They make some of the most classic and quaffable beers in the state, and Oktoberfest in particular is a moment in which they truly shine. We’re excited to welcome OMB to Frenchy’s on Weds, October 23 for a hybrid free tasting (5-7p), a tap takeover, and a keep-the-pint night rolled all into one.

Wine & Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! For Pairing #25, we're honoring this special time of the year - namely, Oktoberfest. And while OKT is traditionally a very beer-centric event, we're pulling out some of our favorite wines being made along these beers in Germany and beyond for a very fall-friendly lineup. There may be one or two familiar faces, but I guarantee you will try some things you've never had before.
As always, Rachel at Orrman's will be thoughtfully pairing each wine with cheese to show how acidity, texture, and structure can either contrast or amplify flavor. Tickets required — these evenings sell out early.
Get your tickets here.
WSET Level One Certification
In this foundation course from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), we explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings.
The Level 1 Award in Wines course includes 6 guided learning hours, of which 45 minutes is for the examination. We will taste 11 wines in class together as well.
More details, and admission, can be found here.
Keep the Stein with Rothaus
What better way to kick off Oktoberfest this year than with a Keep the Stein event with our favorite German pilsner, Rothaus. Indeed, Rothaus is the only beer here at Frenchy’s with a permanent tap handle. As the only regular German export pilsner that comes unpasteurized, the liquid here retains aromas and flavors from the yeast and proteins that remain following fermentation. In other words, it tastes as good here as it does in Germany.
Come celebrate with us and this remarkable beer. We’ll be giving away steins to the first 50 folks through the door wanting a pint of Rothaus!
Live Music @ Frenchy's
The East Wing is BACK at Frenchy’s, with Ryan Hughes [guitar, vocals], Alex Frazer [guitar, vocals] and Ben Neugebauer [cajon] playing an acoustic set of some of their favorite songs. It’s easily one of our favorite nights of the month every time these guys grace us with their music. Come for the drinks, the tunes, and the immaculate vibes. We hope to see you there!
Wine & Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! For Pairing #24, we’re visiting the sun-soaked vineyards of the Mediterranean's most storied islands. From the volcanic soils of Santorini to the ancient terraced hillsides of Sicily, these island wines carry salt air, mineral earth, and centuries of winemaking tradition unique to their shores. We'll be pouring crisp, briny whites like Assyrtiko alongside bold reds such as Nero d'Avola.
As always, Rachel at Orrman's will be thoughtfully pairing each wine with cheese to show how acidity, texture, and structure can either contrast or amplify flavor. Tickets required — these evenings sell out early.
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.

wine & Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! For Pairing #23, we have the great privilege of showing off some of the freshest wines in the world right now. While we were bundled up this past winter, the sun was shining hard over South Africa's Cape Winelands, and winemakers there were busy harvesting what is shaping up to be a spectacular 2026 vintage. These wines were still fermenting just a few months ago — and now they're here, fresh off the boat and ready for their American debut. There's nothing quite like tasting a wine this new.
As always, Rachel at Orrman's will be thoughtfully pairing each wine with cheese to show how acidity, texture, and structure can either contrast or amplify flavor. Tickets required — these evenings sell out early.

The Legacy of Kermit Lynch
It's no secret around Frenchy's that we're big, big fans of the work of Kermit Lynch around here. Kermit revolutionized the wine world by shifting America's focus from mass-produced, blended wines to authentic, small-batch, terroir-driven European wines. As an importer, author, and retailer, he championed independent growers, fought against industrial winemaking shortcuts, and shaped the modern appreciation for natural, unfiltered wines.
Join us on July 12, 2026 for a two-hour walkaround tasting featuring twenty-five legacy wines imported by Kermit Lynch. We're talking multi-generational family wines straight from Loire Valley, Burgundy, Rhone Valley, Provence, and Bordeaux. Dare we say this is an incredible, and rare, opportunity to taste France in its most pure, authentic form all in one place.

Frenchy's and The Waterman are back at it for Orange Wine & Oysters on Saturday, June 13. The Frenchy's team will be pouring a special menu of skin-contact/orange wines all day, with free oysters available while supplies last. Shucking starts at 1pm!
wine & Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! For Pairing #22, we’re not tying ourselves to one place or one winemaker. Rather, we're answering the question: What does a Somm drink during the summer??
Wine (and food) are certainly seasonal, and with the heat and humidity, our personal preferences change. Come learn a little about the what, and the why, behind our bevvies of choice over these warm months. We'll be exploring wines from around the world with this one.
As always, Rachel at Orrman's will be thoughtfully pairing each wine with cheese to show how acidity, texture, and structure can either contrast or amplify flavor. Tickets required — these evenings sell out early.

wine & Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! For Pairing #21, we’re in a place we don’t talk about as much as a lot of others…sunny California. For May, we're spotlighting the wines of Monte Rio Cellars — a California project from former NYC sommelier Patrick Cappiello, made in collaboration with the legendary Pax Mahle.
Their whole thing is making the kind of California wine Patrick always wished he could put on a wine list: honest, food-friendly, organically farmed, and made with as little intervention as possible. Think native yeast fermentations, whole cluster carbonic maceration, neutral oak — wines that are fresh, lower in alcohol, and built to drink with food. Heritage varieties from old Lodi vineyards, done in a style that feels more old California than anything you'd expect.
We'll be pouring a good representation of their range, and as always, Rachel at Orrman's will be thoughtfully pairing each wine with cheese to show how acidity, texture, and structure can either contrast or amplify flavor. Tickets required — these evenings sell out early.
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.

wine & Cheese Pairing
And we’re back! For Pairing #20, we can't help but celebrate with some of the most iconic wines of the world, hailing from Piedmont in northwestern Italy.
This is a storied winemaking area, most famous for its big Barolos and Barbarescos. But there is so much more to this wine geography than big, bold reds (fear not, we'll taste those too). From things like Lumassina to Dolcetto, we're excited to show off some of the best food wines in the world.
Each wine will be thoughtfully paired with cheese, as always, by Rachel at Orrman’s to show how acidity, texture, and structure can either contrast or amplify flavor.
